The DeLorean is safe!

It's been a long time since I've spotted a good alternate ending to Back to the Future Part III, so here we go:

The Simpsons: the Ride

Have a look at this ad promoting the (then) upcoming new attraction at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood theme parks: The Simpsons: the Ride:

Incidentally, this attraction replaced another called Back to the Future: the Ride, and this video makes reference to it:

Back to the… past (for a change) – Part 0: preview

Oh, come on! It's been weeks that I haven't posted anything on this endless blog and I thought I'd read some words of support and encouragement when I'd come back… Well, once again I was too naive: I received just one comment. Same thing for my two other blogs (germanamur.skyrock and the outrageous one). Please send me some feedback: it's always nice to hear from you!

Now, after this "coup de gueule", let's rejoice because I've got a lot to tell you about what happened between the previous post and today's. I'll divide the events into three episodes (you know I love trilogies, and as was hinted in the heading): first I'll tell you about my trip to Barcelona (Spain), then I'll have a word about 28 July, when we all got the results for our exams, and finally I'll account on my stay at the seaside (more precisely in Westende). I think I've quite a lot to write about all that, but fortunately I've a lot of time to spend on that! I LOOOOOVE HOLIDAYYYYYYYYS!!!

"You built a time machine out of a car!"

Goldentusk, who made the Indiana Jones theme song which I featured some days ago, made several other theme songs. Today, I'd like to show you this one about the Back to the Future theme composed by Alan Silvestry. You might want to listen to the original version first:

And now, the parody:

Please (re)watch this Back to the Future rap which I featured last year:

How does Darth Vader use the bathroom?

The answer to this question, long awaited by millions of Star Wars fans, is given by Emperor Palpatine himself:

Emperor Palpatine warns you against the dangers of time travel and temporal paradoxes:

Please check you the AskPalpatine website for more sketches. Also, if you'd like to ask Palpatine a question, "do not hesitate, show no mercy" (to quote him): it's just a click away.

Uncyclopedia featured articles (yeah, they're back): Time travel, Great Time Travel War of 1871
and The Future:

This article or section is able to see into The Future.
Although Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, Uncyclopedia is, so we get to say what happens in the future and they don't.

The modern method of predicting the future.
The modern method of predicting the future.

Predicting the future is a common term among time fans eagerly awaiting its release. The term refers to any leaked information about the future, and assumptions created from that information, as well as pure conjecture. This consists mostly of fans making guesses based on the mistakes of the past, which was widely regarded as only fun for the hardcore time fans. There are many internet discussion forums where the world's greatest minds come together and argue with one another whether the Future will stick to its simple roots, or be a complete sell-out that is all about the graphics.

What makes predicting the future difficult is that it is protected by the CSS encryption algorithm. Anyone who has tried to predict it prior to the 18th century has died; this is not known for certain.

A short selection of things that will happen in the future, according to Uncyclopedia:

In a bit

  • Earth's magnetic poles mysteriously reverse positions. USA wakes up to discover that it is now in South America.
  • Canada buys one (1) tank

Almost but not quite just about right now

  • USA colonizes Uranus. Related jokes NEVER get old.
  • Canada gets an army

Oh, a long ways off

  • All forms of education rendered obsolete by the invention of brain transplants.
  • Canada conquers the earth; the USA is exiled to Uranus.
  • Terrorists vaporise all Americans left in existence by setting fire to Uranus.

The last moments of the universe

  • Humanity becomes intelligent
  • Neo Germany makes a funny joke
  • Weather service become 100% accuracy
  • Bill Gates goes bankrupt
  • Britney Spears regains custody of her children
  • Chuck Norris wakes up and causes mass destruction
  • First time machine made, Church of Scientology buys one and goes back to the start of humanity. Huge disappointment; someone stepped on an internet.

Movie posters

The official poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has just been released, so have a look at this great piece of artwork by Drew Struzan—who also made the Star Wars posters, but also those for Harry Potter and the Back to the Future trilogy, among others.

(This picture was retrieved on TheRaider.net.)

By the way, a Frenchman compared the French and the American trailer of the movie, and noticed a dozen of differences due to the censorship of the MPAA. Unbelievable and outrageous! "Big Brother is watching you", it seems. Just a bunch of hypocrits.

Talking about movie posters, here are two parodies that I found on Uncyclopedia (where else?):

This one is a spoof on the Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones poster. The following replaces, respectively, Leonardo DiCaprio by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Tom Hanks by George Bush, a parody of Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can.

Brokeback… Jaws

After "Brokeback to the Future" and such parodies I've already shown you, there's "Brokeback Jaws", a spoof on Steven Spielberg's masterpiece, Jaws:

Nice work, isn't it?

Christmas Week: "Home Alone"

Here's another Christmas film I really love: Home Alone, starring Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. (They curiously kind of disappeared from the screens after that…)

Here's the trailer of the director's cut version:

"He's a disturbed child who's searching for a home…"

KEVIN: I made my family disappear… I'm a criminal.

"He takes over their home and plans his vengeance…"

"Now Harry and Marv struggle to regain their house at any cost"

"Christmas kills once a year, when you're… HOME ALONE"

Ok, it was just a spoof. But this is frankly one of the best parodies to be seen on YouTube, along with that freaky, scary Mary Poppins re-cut trailer and Brokeback to the Future.

Admit it'd have been great to have Kevin as an evil creature coming from hell to annoy those poor Harry and Marvin in their idyllic existence, just after moving in a new cosy neighbourhood…

Here's another re-cut trailer:

So silly!

300

This entry is the 300th I wrote for this blog. That's quite a number, don't you think. It obviously make me think of the movie, 300, which I haven't seen yet. Perhaps in another life. Meanwhile, we can enjoy thatguywiththeglasses' parody in 5 seconds:

And this one (which I've perhaps already displayed before):

Here are two videos I found a month ago but I was keeping just for the sake of this 300th blog entry. The first one is a video about the Top 100 quotes in the (English-speaking) movie history.

However, I'm surprised that "I am your father" wasn't in this Top 100…

The second is a marvellous montage of bits of films where a character says a number; here we have the complete count from 100 to 1.

I told you it was brilliant! Thumbs up!
"When this baby hits 88 miles an hour, you're gonna see some serious shit!"

"One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to find them. One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them."

[By the way, here's the original version (in the so-called Black Speech of Mordor) of that quote in the book: "Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul." I think it just sounds great.]

The Netherlands finally discover vanity plates…

As I have a weird interest in number plates, I often visit a Dutch website (nummerplaat.com) in order to keep an eye on the codes that are being given out by the RDW (Rijksdienst Wegverkeer).
By the way, they started the 11-ZX-XX series on Wednesday or Thursday. This means that the code consists of two digits — except for "00" – followed by Z and another letter, followed by another set of two letters. And as I'm sure you don't give a damn about it, let me just waste a few words to add that the letters A, C, E, I, M, O, Q, U and W are not used.
My point was just to show you this piece of news that I found on that very website:

It basically means that Paul de Krom discovered vanity plates. Come on! You see them everywhere in American movies! Isn't one of the most famous examples the OUTATIME plate on the DeLorean time machine in Back to the Future? Or we can assume that he discovered how much money could be raised from such vanity plates…

At least, this gives me the opportunity to show you some my collection of Belgian vanity plates, started in July.

I saw this Ferrari in Middelkerke, just on the parking lot near the Casino. It is the only Belgian vanity plate I saw that has three times zero on it. (Normally, "000" is forbidden, except on plates that have the "111.X.1" type or the "1.X.111" type. But three times the letter "O" is accepted on vanity oldtimer plates: I once saw OOO-911.) Let me just add that this number plate cost its owner €874.

I saw this one in Brussels on 21 July. It was on a limo waiting for some VIP next to the Cathedral. It cost €624.

Talking of VIPs, there are two of a series owned by a limo-renting company. (See above and below.) Each of them cost €624.

I guess this one belongs to a French-speaking person named Dominique, for "dom" means "idiot" in Dutch… Or perhaps he/she works for Domo. (Cost: €624.)

A very low serial number, but too new to be an original from 1953 or even a duplicate. This one was seen close to the Flemish Parliament. (Cost: €874.)

This one also cost €874.

Idem.

I saw this one on a brand-new Audi R8 kind of prototype driven by a journalist who had borrowed from the Audi Company, hence the plate. This one was made in 1999. By the way, Audi owns a number of AUD plates, ranging from AUD-100 to AUD-125.

Alternate Endings: the Return!

I've already shown you several alternate endings for the Back to the Future movies, but I've just found another that's worth the detour:

What if it had really happened…?

And I found a new one for Star Wars – Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back:

And another:

All too easy…

And yet another:

Soooo silly indeed!

Brokeback… to the Future

The other day, J.K. Rowling stated that the character of Professor Dumbledore was in fact gay. I don't know what she decided to mention that—it's going to give strenghten the anger of those who criticize the books for being anti-christian (even if there are lots of Christian elements in the them, like Christmas celebrations…). So then, Dumbledore is gay, but if we take a closer look on the films, there might be several other "gay" characters:

Remus and Sirius too:

Well, it's just silly. But this shows you how you can make a totally different film just by putting the pieces in another order.

As long as we're in the middle of a series of Brokeback Montain related parodies, I was also stunned by this secret relationship in Back to the Future:

Brilliant montage!

In the Lord of the Rings, too:

Lloyd and Harry from Dumb and Dumber:

Yet Another Alternate Ending…

Here's another alternate ending for Back to the Future:

Of course, the film would have been about 20 minutes long, and the trilogy wouldn't have existed… But this is the point of a joke.

I also found this rap song summarizing the first movie brilliantly:

Fantastic! If you have never seen the movie, I hope you'll wanna watch it.

A funny thing is the transition from the first episode of BTTF to the second one. At the end of the first, there was a scene where Marty (Michael J. Fox) meets his girlfriend, Jennifer. Then Doc shows up: something has gotta be done about their (future) kids in the future. Then the DeLorean goes away flying.

The fact is that when they started shooting BTTF II in 1989, the actress playing Jennifer in BTTF I (Claudia Wells) wasn't available. So they had to replace her by Elizbeth Shue. This is why we have two versions of the same scene at the end of BTTF I and at the beginning of BTTF II:

This kind of thing had never been done before, and I think it hasn't been done again since then.

Alternate Endings: Back to the Future Trilogy

Alternate ending to Back to the Futue:

I think that the bit when we see the living room changing comes from a movie about time alteration called Frequency

Alternate ending to Back to the Future II:

Note that "Idiot" was translated by "Crétin" in the French version.

This one was a crossover between the said movie and the end of Die Hard I.

Alternate ending to Back to the Future III:

This was a crossover between BTTF III and Face-Off, with John Travolta and Nicolas Cage.

I'm gonna post other alternate endings to famous movies in the next couple of days. Stay tunned!

PS. If you are worried about Marty McFly stuck in the DeLorean time machine, watch this, it'll show you the actual ending. (Well, it's not the very end of the movie, but still.)

I always wondered why Marty had to put his hat on. And also why he has to grab the steering wheel even though the car is on a railway… Mystery…

I admit I'm sad for that poor DeLorean who felt it was gonna die and decided to explode just before the train hits it. (Freeze at 00:58)

And why did the train never stop after the accident, by the way?

Bonus: there's something tricky about the locomotive's shadow as it approaches. Can you spot it?

PLEASE DROP A COMMENT!

Biff Tannen Gets A Revenge

Thomas F. Wilson played the role of Biff Tannen in the three Back to the Future movies. In this song, he tells us several anecdotes. They're 100% true, I think.

The Mamushka!!!

If I had any skills for dancing, I would learn this dance!

We danced the Mamushka at Waterloo. We danced the Mamushka for Jack the Ripper. And now, Fester Addams, this Mamushka is for you!

The Addams Family was originally a series which was made into a film at the beginning of the 90s, featuring Raul Julia, Angelica Houston, Christina Ricci (still a little girl at this time) and the talented Christopher Lloyd, whom I'll see tomorrow in Brussels, since he's a special guest for the BIFFF (Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival). If you want to join me, just send me a message. I like Christopher Lloyd a lot because he's one of the best actors I know; I saw him in many of my favourite movies, from Back to the Future (as Doc Brown) to Who Freaked Roger Rabbit (Judge Doom) to Dennis the Menace.

I'm definitely in love with the freaky, spoofy atmosphere of the film. And because you're friends, I'll show you another extract, but from the second Addams movie, The Addams Family Values, in which Fester is seduced by… a black widow, Debbie Jelinsky (Joan Cusack). The fragment is in French (that's quite rare to find one on YouTube); notice Fester/Fétide's dubbing voice, Pierre Hatet, great French actor. I love his performance.

— Est-ce qu'un d'entre vous m'a vraiment aimée ?
— Levez la main !

Note also that the baby's name is… Puberty
