The Emperor is having a bad day

Robot Chicken is pure genius. Take a look at these fragments from the second Star Wars special episode.

Christmas Week: "Christmas with the Joker"

You probably remember the silly Joker Christmas song:

Hey, I found the whole Christmas with the Joker episode (from Batman: The Animated Series):

Death Notice (5): Horst Tappert

A week ago Horst Tappert passed away. He was made famous by playing inspector Stephan Derrick in the eponymous series, which was, as you know, criticised for being very slow and a good alternative to sleeping pills. The elderly (including my own grandparents, I admit) particularily enjoy watching an episode because it was broadcast round 1 or 2 pm, i.e. the perfect time for taking a nap. Since nothing happened in the episode anyway they didn't miss anything at all. Although it seems very unlikely a Derrick episode actually featured a stunt! Check this out:

And here's a very nice parody made by singer and songwriter Jean-Luc Fonck (mimicking Tappert's gaze perfectly) and Aurélia Dejond for La Télé infernale:

Unfortunately I didn't find an Uncyclopedia entry on Derrick, but I found these funny banners:

I love Rocky Road

In "I Love Rocky Road" Weird Al Yankovic claims his passion for rock and roll… I mean, rocky road ice cream:

Note that the source text is "I Love Rock 'n Roll" by The Arrows.

Sinterklaas komt aan

In order to make a living Jean-Pierre Van Rossem (a BV known for being an anarchist and for a big fraud scandal) decided to play Sinterklaas and today he visits a typical Flemish family. This fragment comes from Chris and Co.

To understand the Monopoly/Karl Marx joke, please read this:

He became famous with 'Moneytron', a stockmarket investment company that could offer apparently endless returns.

Van Rossem had developed a model that could predict the stock market and beat the capitalist system. His sympathies for the theories of Karl Marx did not stop him investing for the very wealthy in the world and accumulating 800 million dollars for himself. He declares himself an "anarchist".

Blokken

"Goeienavond en welkom in Blokken!"

If you've never heard this sentence, it means you've never watched this quiz programme hosted by Ben Crabbé, a 'BV' playing as the drummer for De Kreuners.

Here's a parody of the show made by Chris en co:

Next week the 3000th 'aflevering will be broadcast, consisting in a final between the best contestants that this show has known (and I underline here some of our familiar 'Konnex-uitdrukkingen':

Blokken 3000

Now you know what I'll be watching on 13 December!

Renaissance paintings

What if famous actors had lived in the 17th century? Being famous they'd probably been portrayed:

David Beckham (see the sources here).

Weird Al Yankovic (see the original images here).

Nicholas Cage (for the source click here).

Definitely not a Renaissance painting, but I found the Photoshop effect extremely brilliant:

"This is a castle and we have a many tapestries!" (Buttler in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade")

If you have never understood how William the Conqueror took control over Britain in 1066, maybe the following video is for you. My Old and Middle English teacher, Mrs A. Auer, showed us an animated version of the Bayeux Tapestry — with funny sound effects as well.

(By the way, an episode 17 of the nineteenth season of The Simpsons parodied the tapestry as well.)

"Provençaalse kip"

Here's a funny parody of Lekker thuis, a cooking programme broadcast on the Flemish channel VTM and hosted by Piet Huysentruyt (a West-Fleming). This parody was a sketch for 'Chris en Co'.

50 impersonations in 50 seconds

Only thatguywiththeglasses could be crazy enough to do that:

Keaton: "I'm Batman"
Clooney: "I'm Batman"
Maguire: "I'm Spiderman"
Bloom: "I'm boring"

T: "Foo!"

You: "SHUT UP!"

Brilliant.

"A job interview from Hell"

Just like British mogul Sir Alan Sugar, Darth Vader is looking for an apprentice among 16 contestants… Let's watch the trailer:

"You're fired!"

PS. The series is based upon the American television show of the same name, featuring entrepreneur Donald Trump.

Clarkson Island

The well-known British comedians Harry and Paul made a brilliant parody of Jeremy Clarkson:

"Clarkson Island has just the greater number of Clarksons… in the world."

"And the thing that's most like the genuine Clarkson… is we pause… in the middle… of our sentences… in the world."
