In de gloria: Gilbertke!

Remember Gilbert from the Rutte 98 sketch in West-Flemish? I found it in this fragment from In de gloria

Sinterklaas komt aan

In order to make a living Jean-Pierre Van Rossem (a BV known for being an anarchist and for a big fraud scandal) decided to play Sinterklaas and today he visits a typical Flemish family. This fragment comes from Chris and Co.

To understand the Monopoly/Karl Marx joke, please read this:

He became famous with 'Moneytron', a stockmarket investment company that could offer apparently endless returns.

Van Rossem had developed a model that could predict the stock market and beat the capitalist system. His sympathies for the theories of Karl Marx did not stop him investing for the very wealthy in the world and accumulating 800 million dollars for himself. He declares himself an "anarchist".

"Provençaalse kip"

Here's a funny parody of Lekker thuis, a cooking programme broadcast on the Flemish channel VTM and hosted by Piet Huysentruyt (a West-Fleming). This parody was a sketch for 'Chris en Co'.

iCock nano

What happens when Bill Gates from Microsoft meets Steve Jobs from Apple, Inc.?

"You want to see my Dick?"
"Ah yeah, sure…"
"Here."
"Yeah, that's tiny also!"
"Yeah, I was born like that!"

--> Genius

(This sketch comes from the Harry and Paul show.)

On Windows Vista you can sometimes see crazy notifications pop up…

At least I don't have to press the "START" Button to SHUT MY COMPUTER DOWN any more. That didn't make any sense.
~ Oscar Wilde on Vista

You do know that this is still called the "START" button, right?

~ Me on Oscar Wilde's quote

I prefer Rutte 98, if you want my opinion…

A Little Bit of Flemish Today

These poor West-Flemish people speak in such a dialect that it can't be understood by a large range of people in Flanders, hence the fact that they have to be subtitled quite automatically. But one man dares to stand up against this injustice:

I found a little sketch with our (still!) Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt voiced over in West-Flemish in order to create some silly story:

I admit I didn't understand 100% of it, but it's quite funny to listen to this regional variety of Dutch.

Who?

Probably taken from a real-life example:

I bet such things happen in the White House

And as we're making fun of G.W. Bush, why wouldn't you watch this thing I posted earlier on:

And I really like the end of this (of course, you need to know the tune):

G. W. Bush Can Speak West-Flemish!!!

I thought I couldn't understand a single word of this Flemish dialect, but I think this stuff is pretty explicit…

Ik heb juust in m'n broek gescheten! :D :D :D
