The best way to feel the essence of a movie is to watch a summary of it: either the 5 second version or the f*cking short version… Hey, guess what? I found both for Scarface!:

Renaissance paintings

What if famous actors had lived in the 17th century? Being famous they'd probably been portrayed:

David Beckham (see the sources here).

Weird Al Yankovic (see the original images here).

Nicholas Cage (for the source click here).

Definitely not a Renaissance painting, but I found the Photoshop effect extremely brilliant:

Scarface in 5 seconds

The title says it all!

PS. This five-second movie wasn't made by thatguywiththeglasses; he decided to stop making them so that he doesn't stretch his concept too much, but gives the opportunity to others to make their own.

The Frogfather

I want to show you a Muppet parody of The Godfather, but first you should watch the following two scenes to understand the spoof. The first one is the opening scene, with undertaker Bonasera talking to Don Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) to ask for "justice" because two thugs attacked his daughter. (Notice Bonasera's combover.)

I believe in America --> One of the best opening lines in the movie history.

That I cannot do. --> My foot!

Bonasera. Bonasera. What have I ever done to make you treat me so disrespectful?

Be my friend? … Godfather? --> I think he shit his pants…
Second scene: Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) has to go and kill Captain McCluskey, a corrupt policeman, in a restaurant:

And now, the Frogfather:

Maybe we should ask Statler and Waldorf (I mean the original ones) to comment on that:

A pot-pourri of some of the many comments they made during The Muppet Show:

A last word:

79 golden awards

The 80th Academy Awards Ceremony took place a week ago, and now it's time to watch a four-minute summary showing the 79 films that were awarded the Oscar® for the Best Picture before the 80th (No Country for Old Men):

For an exhaustive list, I refer you to the Wikipedia entry.

When Al meets Robert

Heat is an action film starring two of the most popular movie stars ever: Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro. Both had already played in the same film, but never appeared in the same scene. Such a weird configuration occurred in The Godfather II (by Francis Ford Coppola): Pacino played Michael Corleone, head of the New York mafia, and DeNiro played his father Vito Corleone/Andolini in several flashback scenes showing his arrival in the Big Apple and his rise to power, acquiring the prominent function of Godfather. (Trivia: ote that DeNiro and Marlon Brando — who portrayed the older Vito Corleone in The Godfather are the only two actors who won an Oscar for playing the same character.)

I don't remember the story of Heat, but at some point the characters played by Pacino and DeNiro meet in a restaurant to talk about something. The point is that this scene was made into a spoof by the same guy who did the brilliant parody of the "Indy meets his father" scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (I refer you to that earlier post). The result of a clever "re-subb" of the scene is a death match to decide who's the best actor:

Five stars!

Supergran Is Back

In a previous post, I told you about one of my favourite series ever: Supergran, about a granny struck by a ray which made her extremely powerful, allowing her to tackle crime in the fictional town of Chiselton, as we can see it in the opening credits.

Someone was brave enough to post the closing titles on YouTube, with the full version of the theme tune by the famous British singer Billy Connolly. Enjoy!

Stand back Superman, Iceman, Spiderman, Batman and Robin too,
Don't wanna cause a ruckus with B.A. Baracus have I got a match for you,
She makes them look like a bunch of fairies, she's got more bottle than United Dairies,
Hang about, look out for Supergran.

You can stick your heroes, your Robert De Niroes, your Al Pacinoes too,
Lex Galone [Comment: no trace of him on the Internet; that must be a joke] is just another phoney, she couldn't lace her shoes,
After her they're all big girls' blouses, got more front than a row of houses,
Hang about, look out for Supergran.

She's a serious granny, a serious granny,
She'll do the things that you never saw your granny do…

(Scunner Campbell):
Is there nothing that she cannot do?

Hang about, look out for Supergran.

Scarface: the Summary

I've got to watch this film!

Ok, Scarface is a bit violent, but when you watch in such a way…
