"Water, no thank you sir. Fish make love in it"

Please watch one of my favourite scenes from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Elsa Schneider (Alison Doody) is talking about the Grail's diary written by Henry Jones (Sean Connery).

Elsa Schneider: He's given them to Marcus Brody.
Henry Jones: Marcus? You didn't drag poor Marcus along, did you? He's not up to the challenge.
Walter Donovan: He sticks out like a sore thumb. We'll find him!
Indiana Jones
: The hell you will! He's got a two day head start on you, which is more than he needs. Brody's got friends in every town and village from here to the Sudan. He speaks a dozen languages, knows every local custom. He'll blend in, disappear, you'll never see him again. With any luck... he's got the Grail already.
Marcus Brody: Does anyone here speak English? Or even Ancient Greek? Water, no thank you sir. Fish make love in it… (…) My reputation precedes me.
Some of you may have recognized the late Denholm Elliott, who played in The Signal-Man, the television adaptation of Charles Dickens' eponymous short story.

Black Knight: Lego version

I promised you several days ago to show you more stop animation movies made with Lego so as to re-enact scenes from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Today, enjoy the Black Knight scene (I show you first the original version):

"None shall pass!"

"Now stand aside, worthy adversory."
"It's but a scratch!"
"A scratch?!? You arm's off!"

"It's just a flesh wound!"

P.S. Today, Professor Vandelanotte, referring to our History of Linguistics exam, said: "If you have problems, wave at my general direction." This was clearly a hint to John Cleese's sayings in the same movie, in the French Taunter scene: "I fart in your general direction". As Mr Romero pointed out: "I think nobody's got it." Then he looked at me (I was smiling), saying: "Yeah, of course…" I think Waldorf would have liked it, had he been there.

French Taunting: Lego version

Please watch this amazing Lego re-enactment of the "French Taunter" scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail:

Original version, just because it has a mythical dimension to it:

I'll be posting some other Lego videos during the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned!

The Black Knight Gets A Twist

In the movie The Holy Grail, the Monty Pythons make fun of the Arturian motif, hence this legendary fight between the King of the Britons and the Black Knight—source of this famous sentence that we keep saying in Namur: None shall pass!.

And this is the same sketch but the Black Knight's line have been replaced by dialogues spoken by Darth Vader… And the sound effects and the music.

The Ark of the Covenant

This is the Ark of the Covenant as it appears in Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark. I really like this film. I must say that I'm a big fan of trilogies—all sorts of them—but for the Indiana Jones Trilogy, I think that the second movie has to be forgotten… It's just too much. Difficult to believe that it's a movie by Steven Spielberg… But anyway, the two other Indies are terrific. As to the Ark itself, it was accompanied with a kinda Middle-Eastish, soft music theme by John Williams that gives you a weird feeling.
On the picture on the left, you see the Ark that they used in the movie, probably in an exhibition. On the right of it, you can see the Holy Grail of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the fake one (in gold) and the "real one", a wooden cup.
