Christmas Party in Namur

Today we all celebrated Christmas — or, say, kind of — by gathering in the English literature seminar, and we chatted, we drank, we listened to music… it was thus great fun, basically.

I took a lot of pictures tonight, but as I'm leaving for a three-days trip to Amsterdam
tomorrow morning, I don't have the time to upload the pictures. Anyway, I'll do it asap. There are some gems, believe me. Just one quote perhaps:
Mr Romero: Do you want some wine, Simon?
Me: Oh yeah, but just a finger.
Mr Romero: Oh, we hardly know each other!
Silly, as usual… See you soon then!

I had a great time at the party. I think you took some great pictures.
The "after" was quite enjoyable too, I came back at 1 a.m.

Aaw, I wish I was there!

I had a French 201 final today at 7AM. My teacher gave us each a cookie before starting...

Hey, that's nice! And don't believe a word they say about me, Ellen. I wans't drunk or anything. Just acting normal, kind of. By the way, I received two job offers for BYI in Linguistics too bad I haven't got my PhD yet. It sure looked interesting.

Yeah, the party was definitely great fun, especially with the exploding kettle towards the end!

[to Ellen]

7 am? That's quite early for an exam!! Your French teacher must be some kind of tortionary… Ok, you got a cookie, but that's nothing compared to Mr Romero and a whole bag of sweets: we all received like half a dozen of sugary things while taking a Proficiency test!

[to Eloy JM Romero-Muñoz]

Thanks again for the sweets and for playing the waiter at the party! Yeah, you were just acting as usual, cracking up lots of jokes, hence the new nickname we found for you. (Martin knows what I'm talking about.)

You already received two job offers? Don't leave us! Otherwise we'd run a petition and go and demonstrate in the streets! ;-)

The "kettle bombing" was indeed fun (even if it's a bit dangerous, if somebody would ever have get this boiling rocket in the face). Apparently we've drunk all the stock of wine of the unit, including what they had bought for a supper with the former BA 3.

Don't you worry Simon, I'll still be around for a while (much to SOME BA1 students' despair I'm afraid). I haven't really received any firm job offers so far, and probably won't until I'm done with the PhD.

What a relief!

And as to your reluctant BA1 students, I'll ask the Spanish Inquisition to investigate and find the rebels… They will be spanked. (This punishment seems most convenient to me and I'm sure you won't disapprove of it.)
